If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible to sponsor your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, dependent child, adopted child, parent or other relatives as defined by the regulations. To be a sponsor, you should generally be residing in Canada and must be aged 18 years of age or older.
If you are not currently residing in Canada, you may still sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner and dependent children who have no dependent children of their own.
However, you must prove that you will reside in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident.
You must be willing to sign an undertaking to provide for the basic requirements of the person you have sponsored and any accompanying family members. Depending on which family members you seek to sponsor, you may be required to prove that you have an income that is not less than the minimum necessary income published yearly by the Canadian government. For more information, please contact: immigrate@skilledworkerscanada.com
